Our people make the remarkable possible through an unwavering display of uncommon commitment each day.Reporting to the Production Supervisor-Metal this role is responsible for setting up quality conforming parts based on drawings and blueprints. Additionally the person filling this role is responsible for setting up and operating the numerical controlled (CNC) press brake machine while maintaining established procedures and specifications that meet or exceed customer and company expectations. This position may assume additional metal fabrication duties as needed.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as cutting bending and programming using all features of the press brakeUnderstand specifications of the task at hand determines which brake dies are used based on the desired result by reading blueprints mechanical drawings etc.Adjusts machine settings in order to adhere to established product specifications and monitors work to ensure machine is functioning properlyPrepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machinesPrepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specificationsPerform process and maintains tight tolerances and quality requirementsResponsible for set-up maintenance and operation of equipment in the press brakeResponsible for inspecting the quality of raw materials before fabrication useCommunicate proactively to Production Supervisor-Metal any issues related to material quality machine issues or any items negatively impacting product outputPerforms routine and minor maintenance activities as neededKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESCan translate the requirements of part drawings into measurements for productionEnsures every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the companyIs mechanically minded and willing to be cross trained in a variety of fabrication functions and operating softwareHas experience reading and understanding manufacturing blueprintsHas experience using tools such as calipers protractors and tape measures to confirm dimensions against drawingsUnderstands manufacturing tolerancesHas strong problem-solving skills to know why machines are not at peak performance and can adjust settings to increase output and fix any errorsAbility to apply basic sheet metal forming fundamentalsUnderstands the relationship between a press brake tool and the bend radius Follows all company safety protocol especially during equipment operationsEnsure machine is consistently clean and calibratedAbility to work in a team environmentCommitted to maintaining consistent and on-time attendance Ability to retain and apply instructionsHas excellent attention to detail/precision and consistently avoids critical errors with componentsAbility to multi-task with effective time management skillsAbility to communicate in and understand EnglishEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma GED or equivalentStrong math skills and the ability to understand and process complex work instructionsAutoCAD and SolidWorks training helpfulPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel climb crouch or crawlThe employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focusEmployee must be able to talk and hearWORK ENVIRONMENTDue to our onsite Fabrication process the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
