General Responsibilities
The Manager receives communication from all members of the executive and management team. The Manager must process and oversee the processing and execution of all new customer files, bids, contracts, updates, and etc. The Manager must communicate on a daily basis with the Director of Operations. The Manager must balance the flow of data between Sales, Billing, Collections and Customer Service.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Experience: A college diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience in transportation, rating, supervisory leadership, and administrative office functions required.
Skill(s): Interpersonal leadership and verbal communication skills; Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills; excellent interpersonal relations; knowledgeable of US geography; excellent telephone skills; high proficiency in analytical and data processing skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other PC skills; detail oriented; self-motivated; general knowledge of transportation pricing, contracts, and ancillary charges. Must possess excellent organization skills along with the ability to keep good records and maintain electronic and printed documentation on all projects.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in related positions is normally required.
Essential Responsibilities of the Pricing Manager
1) To utilize the electronic systems to monitor all projects. This involves the following criteria:
a) Utilizing spreadsheet software to produce reports, contracts, rate pages, and update information.
b) Utilizing the e-mail system to communication effectively with both internal and external customers as needed.
2) To complete all pricing related functions in a timely fashion. This involves the following criteria:
a) Inputting information in the computer system, either through Windows software or by utilizing the AS/400 interface.
b) Confirming the accuracy of all data completed.
c) Establishing the priority level of all tasks to meet customer needs and business demand.
3) Adhering to a complete confidentiality policy. This involves the following criteria:
a) Ensuring the confidentiality level of all projects to protect company interests. Not communicating any unneeded or undisclosed information.
b) Maintaining and ensuring confidentiality of all documents, customer information, rates, and all other pricing, sales, and operations related items.
4) Receive, solicit and provide communication to and from management and ensure processing of all information related to Pricing.
5) Respond to internal and external rate inquiries as required.
6) Completion of all RFPs in a timely manner.
7) Manage the creation of rate quotes on the AS/400 and the follow-up to obtain signatures.
8) Coordinate the processing of all customer requests, bids, contracts and any other pricing related requests.
9) Communicate customer feedback to the appropriate personnel and management team.
10) Ensure that credit checks are performed as needed for all new and existing customers.
11) Monitor and maintain the creation of rate addendums, contracts, accessorial addendums, backup matrices, fuel surcharge agreements, and customer profiles.
12) Ensure timely responses are given to all questions and requests forwarded to the Pricing department by other internal departments.
13) Ensure accurate and consistent files are maintained.
14) Produce and/or develop appropriate reports required for trend analysis.
15) Create charts and graphs reflecting company performance for selected measurements.
16) Must exhibit professionalism when communicating with customers via phone, email, or in person.
