This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.What we do:The Principal Cost Engineer will play a key role in developing analyzing and maintaining cost models for the design development and production of our aircraft. This position bridges the gap between engineering supply chain and finance providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making cost optimization and program profitability.What you can do:Develop and maintain detailed cost models for components systems and assemblies throughout the aircraft lifecyclePartner with engineering teams to evaluate design-to-cost targets and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising performance or safetySupport make-vs-buy analyses supplier quotations and should-cost modeling for mechanical electrical and composite systemsCollaborate with procurement and manufacturing to develop cost baselines track variances and ensure alignment with program budgets and milestonesConduct cost-benefit and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for design changes production methods and tooling strategiesDevelop and maintain cost estimation tools and templates that scale with company growthPrepare cost reports dashboards and presentations for leadership and program management reviewsContribute to long-term cost forecasting and financial planning for production ramp-up scenariosProvide technical mentorship to junior engineersOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:B.S. in a relevant field is requiredMinimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)Experience with life-cycle costing and parametric estimation techniques for aerospace applicationsDemonstrable project planning and leadership skillsStrong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining composites electrical systems assembly)Proficiency with cost modeling software ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (advanced).Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive communication and follow-upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraintsSelf-motivated and forward-thinking personalityBase pay offered may vary depending on skills experience job-related knowledge and location.
