About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer – Application & Web Server Platform to serve as the senior technical leader responsible for the strategy, architecture, engineering standards, automation, and lifecycle management of the enterprise application and web server platform ecosystem.This role will lead the transformation of platform delivery through automation, standardization, self-service capabilities, and platform engineering best practices. The Principal Engineer will define and govern enterprise solutions supporting Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere Liberty, and NGINX, while enabling application teams to rapidly deploy and manage workloads through highly automated, secure, and scalable platform services.The successful candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Application Development organizations to build a modern, self-service, platform-as-a-product operating model.In this role, you will:Define the long-term strategy, architecture, and technical roadmap for enterprise application and web server platformsAct as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groupsLead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinkingTranslate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutionsProvide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutionsMaintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organizationStrategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadershipRequired Qualifications:7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationExpert knowledge of Linux and enterprise middleware architecturesSignificant experience designing automated build, release, packaging, and deployment solutionsStrong experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and AnsibleExperience with enterprise CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLabExperience with artifact management platforms such as ArtifactoryStrong scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShellDesired Qualifications:Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and cloud-native hosting platformsKnowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, and SRE practicesStrong architecture, governance, and enterprise-scale design experienceIndustry certifications in Cloud, DevOps, Linux, Security, or Architecture disciplinesExperience with Azure, AWS, or Google CloudJob Expectations:This position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipHybrid work schedulePay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
