The Principal Data Engineer informs the planning and roadmap for the Data Engineering team and owns the quality for the data pipelines the team builds.Job Responsibilities:Lead analysis architecture design and development of data warehouse data lake and business intelligence solutionsCollaborate on analysis architecture design and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutionsResearch analyze recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult migration development and integration problemsLead as well as contribute (hands-on) to data implementation projects and/or project independent workstreamsData wrangling of heterogeneous data exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insightsConduct and support white-boarding sessions workshops design sessions and project meetings as needed playing a key role in building relationships with other teamsMentor other team members in their efforts to build data architect skillsetsAssist team management to define projects including helping estimate plan and scope workContribute to presentations required by management and meeting preparationsAlso responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.Education and Work Experience:Bachelors Degree Computer Engineering Computer Science a related subject area or equivalent experience (Required)Masters/Advanced Degree Mathematics Computer Science Engineering Finance Statistics or related technical field and/or MBA (Preferred)7-10 years - Related experience- 5 years developing cloud solutions using data services- Minimum 3 years of managing data engineering teams- Experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (e.g. EMR Aurora Redshift Glue S3 SWF Quicksight etc.)- Leading/coaching senior engineers and/or managers- Experience with the Software development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodsKnowledge Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to manage global projects or programs including work prioritization planning and coordination (Required)Licenses and Certifications:Cloud platform certification(s) (AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner OR Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) (Required)At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesTravel:Travel Required (Yes/No): NoDOT Regulated:DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): NoSafety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): NoBase Pay Range: $125600 - $226600Corporate Bonus Target: 20%The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.At T-Mobile employees in regular non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
