If you have a passion for excellence seek opportunities to engage in mission critical work and consistently exceed expectations apply now to join our professional family.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe main duties include but are not limited to:Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis construction support walkdowns design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Define scope of technical programs and develop effective quality solutions to challenges which involve unique or controversial problemsCreatively meet all company and industry requirements and apply site systems to achieve quality timely and cost-effective results. Give quality guidance and assistance to less senior professionals on related tasksIncorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planningProvide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertiseProvide direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new approaches to problems and new application of existing engineering or scientific principles. Evaluate the results of programs and prepares reports and recommendations based on these evaluations. Identify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate for solution Keep informed of the advancement of technology as applied through ones area of technology. Prepare plans including schedules budgets and personnel requirements for solving technical tasks identified by managementDevelop schedules monitor progress monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed Develop schedules monitor progress monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed Communicate results and objectives verbally and in manuscripts form to customers colleagues and managementOccasionally prepare reports for external publication. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSPh.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5 years experienceOR A MS with 8 years experienceOR A BS with 10 years experience or moreBS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering. Experience acceptable in lieu of specific degrees.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCandidate must demonstrate ten (10) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry and possess a working knowledge of NEC IES NFPA IEEE and OSHA requirementsCandidate must have experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculationsCandidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress walking for distances of over half a mile climbing of ladders to access remote areas dressing out in protective clothing and environments where a respirator is required Ability to work in a diverse work environment Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below) Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience on DOE sites and programsCandidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferredSRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferredProficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is preferred..LOCATION Aiken South CarolinaPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSSuccessful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.
