All of our system institutions place strong emphasis on service — helping to build healthier, more educated communities in South Carolina and beyond.South Carolina Retirement:YesState Insurance Programs:YesAnnual Leave:YesSick Leave:YesAdvertised Job Summary:The Research Associate Professor will provide guidance, vision, and management for the research team; supervise the design and implementation of projects that inform child care policy leadership and inform the field of early care and education; support local, regional and statewide early childhood organizations and coalitions on their data, research and analysis needs; collect and analyze child care administrative and programmatic data to generate information on CCDF-funded activities and outcomes; determine appropriate methods to develop reports and provide reliable data; interpret findings that can be used to guide future program and policy decisions while maintaining documentation of findings and interpretations.Assist with the collection and analysis of child care and CCDF-funded programs data that supports the completion of federal reports.The Research Associate Professor will also serve as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) working on securing internal and external grants in early childhood that complement the research team’s goals.Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:The position requires a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in education, that includes a thorough understanding of research principles, early childhood teaching practices, or a related field from an accredited institution.Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience in early childhood research and grants administration, as well as working with state agencies in early childhood settings and/or early care and education.Candidates must show demonstrated competence and success in maintaining grant funding and leadership on large-scale funded projects.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Early Childhood Research to Practice ImplementationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Experience developing and coordinating projects focused on professional development in early childhood settings; Supervisory experience.Grant administration experience. Knowledge of early childhood systems and quality improvement initiatives.Knowledge of education research and measurement.Record of working collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders;Active professional engagement, including scholarly article publications, conference presentations, and governance in professional organizationsJob Duty:Will serve as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on externally funded projects, and provide primary or secondary supervision of project goals to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
