Job Description

Essential DutiesDevelops and maintains an effective educational program consistent with state and federal guidelines and the philosophy policies and goals of the School BoardAnalyzes data to initiate design and implement programs to meet the specific needs of the schools instructional programEstablishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the schoolAble to assist in the preparation of the school budget and monitor expendituresCoordinates and works with the central administrative staff on school problemsUphold Montgomery County School Board policies and regulations by the schools staff and studentsCreate schedules within established guidelines to meet student needsMaintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary according to School Board policy and the due process rights of childrenBe responsible for maintaining accurate records of the progress and attendance of students.Supervise all employees assigned to the schoolOversee the hiring process of all school building personnelSupervise the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.Observe and evaluate classroom instruction using appropriate evaluation tools. Additionally give feedback and provide support as needed.Establishes a school culture that promotes equity among all students and staffCreates and maintains good relationships with all stakeholdersOther duties as needed and/or assigned.Education/Experience Requirements5-7 years of related educational work experience experience as an assistant principal preferredMasters Degree with coursework in education administration and curriculum and instructionMust hold the North Carolina Professional License for School AdministratorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standardsMust be able to physically perform the basic operational functions of stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking hearing and repetitive motionAbility to lift a minimum of 20 poundsDisclosureThis document provides descriptive information about the above Montgomery County School position.
