About the role:Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our fast-growing IVL this role youll use your technical skills and passion for innovation to lead the commercialization of new products and improvements. Youll work hands-on to solve complex problems in a fast-paced global environment focusing on developing processes from concept to production. This position involves cross-functional collaboration to design and commercialize advanced technology supporting process development across Boston Scientifics global plant network and within the OnePD model.At Boston Scientific we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five (5) days per week.Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.Your responsibilities will include:Assess process capabilities prioritize process improvement opportunities and innovate and implement process improvements on complex projectsApply technical knowledge to innovate design and develop processes procedures tooling and/or automationDevelop and build technology roadmap for IVLExecute the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP Project Management and Quality SystemsWrite clean and concise work instructions that can be understood by product buildersServe as a key resource or expert participating in setting technical direction for the function and/or organizationOwn/contribute to technical reports validations and qualifications by capturing experimental resultsEnsure visibility and closure of process issues (e.g. yields cost capability etc.) per PDP milestonesEvaluate external technologies and strategically identify opportunities to implement them internallyProvide on-going mentoring and technical guidance to managers other engineers technicians and functional groupComplete proper documentation to meet quality systems requirements (e.g. BOMs Routers FMEAs etc.)Write and review validation protocols and reports applicable to new processesServe as a key contributor and participant in technical reviews preparing and presenting technical data and recommendations at technical and business reviewsOversee development builds associated with the project using special work requestsProvide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print packagePartner cross-functionally to develop design specifications test methods and material selectionContribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissionsTrain and/or provide work direction to technicians and engineers and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of prototype line development and validationServe as a core team member or technical expert (subject matter expert) on new product development projectsMay serve as a representative or liaison to other Boston Scientific sites or external organizations boards or committeesRequired qualifications:Bachelors degree in EngineeringMinimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience relevant to this roleHands-on mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated engineering fundamentals (LEAN DFM etc)Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environmentStrong conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsPrior experience as a technical lead on team projectsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience building a technology roadmap and developing new technologies to scale growth of key productsMust be able to provide own reliable transportation to commute effectively between Maple Grove sites (Weaver Lake and Arbor Lakes facilities)Preferred qualifications:Advanced degree in EngineeringPrior experience in medical device industry or similar highly-regulated industryDemonstrated use of Design for Six Sigma tools (Design of Experiments problem solving)Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion through collaboration among team membersExperience in New Product DevelopmentDemonstrated ability to develop and drive innovative solutions into processes and productsExperience developing and characterizing various types of processesDemonstrated understanding and usage of statistics to drive improvements; proficiency in MinitabDemonstrated ability to develop equipment/fixtures/tooling from concept to productionMedical device design experience; new product developmentDemonstrated understanding of problem solving and root cause investigationsTroubleshooting in combination with product yield and performanceExperience with mechanical designAbility to schedule out timelines with specific milestones to achieve and demonstrated successExperience with Process Verification and ValidationExpertise in Operations and/or New Product DevelopmentAbility to travel (domestic and international) up to 10% of timeRequisition ID:619195Minimum Salary:$99100Maximum Salary: $188300The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) see vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training pertinent education including licensure and certifications among other relevant business or organizational needs.
