Principal Engineer at Element Materials Technology

OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer positions must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesWill be responsible for the running of the Seismic and LOCA facility and responsible for the management of Technicians who will perform these activities and various activities as assigned by the Operations Manager or The Facilities DirectorIs a key contributor to defining and focusing Element goals and objectives in alignment with his/her specific engineering disciplineHas an advanced ability to define solutions for and lead extremely complex challenges and new projectsServes as a key or top level technical advisor and may be recognized as an expert in their given technical discipline within Element and/or the global TIC sectorSkilled communicator of idea concepts practices etc. to stakeholders at all levels of the companyHas come to be seen as a go-to mentor and expert by the technical communitySkills / QualificationsRequires 15 years in Nuclear Qualification with LOCA Seismic Commercial Grade DedicationKnowledge of IEEE-323 IEEE 344 and various other nuclear requirementsWorking knowledge of laboratory safetyPossesses a depth of understanding and experiences which integrates of the main areas of his/her chosen engineering fieldAlso possesses advanced knowledge of the theories principles and concepts of the disciplinesHas a proven track record and ability to lead technology the development of integrated technical solutions across the spectrum of Element capabilities globallyHas an understanding of both internal and external capabilities which can be utilized to support and further business opportunities across ElementWill have at least 15 years relevant experience post-degree or higher academic qualificationsIs thoroughly knowledgeable of internal capabilities and understands external resources available globallyIn-depth understanding of testing conceptsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plusPhysical Demands:Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasionAbility to stand on feet for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50lbs periodicallyDiversity StatementAt Element we always take pride in putting our people first.
