The team works on developing cutting edge technologies in multimedia data compression, processing, transmission, analysis and beyond. Some example areas include (but not limited to) video compression algorithms, future video coding standards, learned image and video compression, VR and 360 video coding and transmission, intelligent visual data analysis and representation, future immersive data compression and processing (e.g. point cloud, light field, etc.)Master degree in computer science, electrical engineering, math, statistics, or related fields5+ years of related working experiencePublications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferencesInterest and experience in video compression and video coding standardsStrong coding skills in C/C++Ability to communicate/collaborate with other researchers/engineersAbility to think out of boxWho We Look ForPreferred qualifications:Proven track record of making contributions to video coding standardsGood understanding of state-of-the-art video compression algorithmsWorking experience on HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1, AVS3Working experience on Joint Exploration Model by JVETExperience on learned image and video compressionResponsibilities:Research, design, implement, and optimize novel algorithms/models that lead to improved video compression performance in future or existing codecsSummarize the developed algorithms into academic papers, standard contributions and patent applicationsRepresent company in standard meetings and academic conferencesLocation State(s)US-California-Palo AltoThe expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $122,500.00 to $229,700.00 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee’s tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
