Our team solves tough meaningful problems that create a safer more secure world.The Processing Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Directorate consists of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors.The PG&C Center is currently hiring for a Principal Systems Engineer - Guidance Navigation & Control Lead in Tucson AZ.As the Principal Systems Engineer - Guidance Navigation & Control Lead This critical role will support the development of the future technology that will enable Raytheon to continue to provide outstanding products to the warfighter. This is an onsite position located in Tucson AZ.What You Will DoLead a team of GN&C engineers to develop tactical flight code via System Modeling Simulation and AnalysisLead a team to develop missile simulation framework across multiple platforms for a family of effectorsManage budget for tactical code development projectsProvide subject matter expert level support to Simulation Guidance Navigation and Control for a family of effectorsWork within agile framework to lead development of backlogs plans and metrics.Support continuous improvement of people processes and tools.Identification establishment and implementation of best practices and lessons learned.Utilize agile development methods automation and continuous integration.Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.Engineering experience in missile system applications to include but not limited to the following:System-level integration modeling and simulation experience (e.g. 6 degree of freedom (6DoF) simulationSystem performance analysis using modeling & simulationPre-Flight test and Post-Flight test performance analysis and flight test matchingIntegrating Control-Section Auto-Pilot ElectronicsPerforming Formal Qualification Testing on flight test softwareUsing Missilekit GenSim and GenWorldExperience managing and/or leading cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity.Experience with MATLAB Python C C and/or Object-Oriented design.Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.Qualifications We PreferMulti-discipline engineering background with knowledge of related technologies and products specific to GN&C and to the broader engineering organization (Guidance Navigation embedded software RF and IR seekers Modeling and Simulation).Experience in the missile software life-cycle including development and qualification testing.Experience with leading GN&C and functional design teamsExperience using Linux and configuration management tools such as: SVN Git and Microsoft Azure DevOps.What We OfferOur values drive our actions behaviors and performance with a vision for a safer more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
