Were turning todays impossible into tomorrows standard from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design intelligent software and next-generation safety and entertainment features.Every day our products move millions of peopleas we aim to makedriving safer smarter and more connected shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.The RoleWe areseeking aPrincipalTechnical Program Manager to leadprograms involvingon-premAV systems(labs benches HILs dev kitsdataingest andsupporting network infrastructure)andtodriveplansaddressing gaps in people infrastructureandcapacity.As aPrincipalTechnical Program Manager (TPM) within theAVInfrastructureteam at GM you will play a critical role in driving the development testing and delivery of complex large-scaletraditional andAIenhancedinfrastructure to accelerate the delivery of next-generation autonomy software.You will work alongside AVinfrastructure andsoftware teams to help drive the scale and efficient useoftheseon-premhardware & software platforms.Additionallyyoullhandlerunning project timelines resources and scope across multiple teams ensuring alignment among all partners and driving projects efficiently. This role requires a blend of technicalability leadership and critical thinking to innovate and drive the team toward achieving GMs goals.WhatYoullDoPartner with Technical Leads of customer engineering teams to turn their technical specs into achievable implementation roadmaps including planning milestones andidentifyingcross-team dependenciesincluding RACI framework integrationsDrive the formulation and review of department roadmaps andobjectiveson a quarterly and monthly cadenceWork with Engineering Managers to ensure teams take on a balanced assignment of critical initiatives iterative improvements and proactive engineering excellence investments. Support calculation of team capacity vs estimated workload and ensure teamscan deliver on their commitmentsDefine and track KPIs program metrics and validation milestones to ensuretimelydelivery of engineering achievementsWork with Technical Leads on design decisions and contribute to the department design reviews to ensure we continue to raiseour technical standardsEnsure smooth execution of programs and continuously improve execution over timeProactivelyidentifyrisks and blockers across software and operationsand drive mitigation plans in real timeLead program reviews with technical and executive stakeholders across AIDeveloper ExperienceteamsEstablish confidence from partner teams to continuously minimize distractions or conflicts and push groups to improve their outputYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Proven experience in technical program management especially withproductionsystems andnetworkinginfrastructureProven experience withmanagingHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systemssupportingsoftwaredevelopmentand testthrough simulationExperience with systemBOM developmentand standardizationsExperience with on-prem datacenter footprint capacity planningStrong communicationskills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadershipStrong systems thinking with the ability to connect high-level architecture to on-the-ground execution detailsFamiliarity with project tracking and status reporting tools likeJiraandConfluencePassionate about AV technology and its impact on the worldBS in Engineering Computer Science or 15 years of an equivalent technical experience in complex technical systemsdemonstratinga strongtrack recordof successful project deliveryWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Deep familiarity withhybrid cloudarchitecturesStrong experiencewithbothproduction andlab-basedtestbenchconfigurationsThis role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Austin Warren Milford Mountain View Sunnyvale you are expected to report to that location three times a week. Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.The salary range for this role is $194400 to $350500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.Benefits:GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
