Principal Test Technician at Element Materials Technology

OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Principal Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Senior Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesPerforms duties comparable to that of a Senior Technician utilizing the added skills and knowledge that comes with earning an Associates or bachelors degree in a testing-related fieldDesigns sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirementsRequires very little supervision and technical input of a Department Manager Principal Technician Project Coordinator or EngineerPossess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical dataAbility to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specificationsSkills / QualificationsWorking knowledge of laboratory safetyHS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomedPossesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification normally at a Bachelor degree level and/or 6-8 years of significant experience in a testing related field through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attainedIn-depth understanding of testing conceptsAnalyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performedPossess strong computer skillsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plusPhysical Demands:Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasionAbility to stand on feet for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50lbs periodicallyDiversity StatementAt Element we always take pride in putting our people first.
