Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSteps to Serenity is a growing private practice that is looking for those that want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those seeking therapy. As a Professional Counselor at Steps to Serenity, you will play an integral part in delivering quality mental health care, including outpatient counseling in an in office and virtual setting, and in group sessions. You can provide therapeutic support, facilitate group discussions, and contribute to treatment planning and implementation. You will be empowered to create clinical programs in your specialty, learn about practice management, or become a Supervisor of Residents all with the support of Steps to Serenity’s leadership and administration.Key Responsibilities:• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.• Develop and implement treatment plans, tailored to the needs of a diverse client population.• Provide education and support to clients in managing their mental health.• Document and maintain accurate client records in our EHR in compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and practice timelines.• Practice within state, federal, and provincial laws/regulations and professional ethical standards, including following HIPAA and (42 CFR pt 2) CRF regulations.• Participate in training sessions to enhance professional skills and meet CEU requirements as well as attend staff meetings.• Commit to a minimum of 12 clinical hours per week for a part-time status or 24 clinical hours for a full-time status.Education Requirements:• Master’s degree from an accredited counseling or social work program is required.• Current and valid Virginia LPC or SW License. (Will accept LSATP or CSAC if also a registered LPC resident)Skills and Qualifications:• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.• Experience in providing therapy and working with diverse populations.• Knowledge of therapeutic methods and techniques for outpatient settings.• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to all confidentiality requirements.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.• Spanish speaking capabilities are especially helpful.If you want to make a difference in the lives of people struggling with mental health issues and meet the qualifications above, we encourage you to apply.
