Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Process Technician for our Tiffin, OH. This position will report to the Production Manager.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and maintain standard cycle times and part qualityBe able to understand and communicate the information provided within the job packet pertaining to specification sheet, standard routing, B.O.M.’s, scrap reports and quality requirementsBe able to identify all resins used in molding operation including regrind and the associated usage percentageMust understand and operate the operator interface ‘CRT’ screen on computer-controlled presses, including all screens required to control the processMust be able to establish a new process, do mold sets, Robot Programming and start a machine based upon settings in Mold Books/QR Code.Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of hot runner systems, Valve Gates, and standard sprue moldsTrouble shoot issues on Injection Molding machines and Robots.Other duties as assigned by ManagementFixed Schedule:All (4) shifts A, B, C, D are scheduled on a 2/2/3. This schedule gives you a 3-day weekend every other week! The schedule pattern consists of four 12-Hour shifts who work two days in a row, get two days off and then work another three days, which results in only 14 working days each month!Requirements:At least 18 years of ageEligible to work in the United States of AmericaPass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Authorize Background CheckMust be able to work a 12-Hour ShiftKnowledge of operating the following Injection molding machines a must, such as:Engel, Milacron, Battenfeld, UBE and HPM’sKnowledge with Wittman and Servpro Robots preferredOrganized, detail oriented, team player with a sense of urgencyResourceful, with ability to apply critical problem-solving skillsEffective Communication SkillsApplicant must have 2 plus years’ experience as a process tech in injection molding or similar processFollow departmental documentation procedures5S and Lock Out Tag Out experience preferredBenefits:If you are interested in joining the American Plastics team and want to work in a fast-paced, progressive environment, we want to hear from you.
