The Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of sourcing strategies and collaboration with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Honda. The Specialist is accountable to identify, set, and manage metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. The Specialist drives results through the creation and management of competitive bidding processes and analyzation of data and market trends. The Specialist is responsible to plan for the category, driving/implementing initiatives, communicating and influencing customers and suppliers at all levels.  The Specialist must work collaboratively, exhibit a strong sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, exhibit an intense curiosity/learning drive, successfully operate in a fast-paced environment, engage/influence key stakeholders, be extremely customer-focused, and continuously develop their business acumen. Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects, as well as timely completion to meet the business’ objectives.Key AccountabilitiesManage Supplier Performance / Development / Risk/ Support SegmentationExecute the Strategic Sourcing Function in Alignment with CategoryMeet category SEQCDM performance targets and measures, monitor progress and implement countermeasures when necessaryResponsible for project implementation and oversight of projects and business plan items, monitors progress and adjusts direction as neededShare ideas, negotiate, collaborate, and build consensus across North America sites  Apply key customer (upstream, downstream, and end-user) viewpoint in all category activities Build a network of productive relationships across AHM / HDMA to achieve category plans, targets and compliance.Qualifications, Experience, and SkillsMinimum Educational Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field or equivalent experienceMinimum Experience:A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in either a Purchasing and/or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on educationOther Job-Specific Skills:Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft suite to include word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.  Familiarity with sap, Ariba or major ERP system(s)Basic understanding of commercial terms / conditions and identifying / negotiating master agreement requirements; ability to identify engagement risk factors and ensure commercial contracts and legal agreements appropriately mitigate risk and protect Honda.Understanding of, and experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategiesAble to explain complex data in an understandable manner for a wide range of audiencesImplement long-term development strategies for categoryCommunication / negotiation skills for various audience levelsJob DimensionsNo. of Direct Reports:      0No. of Indirect Reports:   0Financial Dimensions:     All category spend projects >$25k; business users’ budgets – analyse and reduce.
