Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking self-starting individuals with a strong background in procurement services, contract development, and purchasing to apply for the Procurement Services Coordinator position. The Procurement Services Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, and participates in the procurement of services, supplies, equipment, and operating systems; assists in the development and implementation of purchasing and contract policies and procedures.
The well qualified candidate will possess the following:
Knowledge:
- Applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and codes pertaining to public purchasing and contracting
- Policies, rules, and regulations applicable to purchasing and contracting
- Principles and techniques of business administration
- Principles and practices of contract law, purchasing techniques, and specification writing
- Concepts and techniques for utilizing current and new technology in applicable areas
- Procurement software platforms and related systems that streamline and enhance the procurement lifecycle including sourcing, vendor management, contract management, and purchase order processing
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and Experience:
Education: A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter verifiable college coursework units in business administration, contract administration, contract law, public finance, or other field closely related to the job requirements of the classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Three years of experience in contract development, contract administration, and purchasing, for a wide variety of services and/or materials in a public agency, including one year of lead or supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
