Buyer Position
Aston Carter partnering with a leading manufacturer in the area is seeking a Buyer to join a growing procurement and supply chain team supporting a complex manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day purchasing responsibilities with strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier management.

What You'll Do
- Manage approximately $20M in spend, including corrugate, labels, flexible packaging, preformed bags, and related categories.
- Execute purchasing activities, including purchase order management, inventory planning, and material replenishment.
- Run and maintain MRP-driven planning processes within an ERP environment.
- Support multiple manufacturing facilities by ensuring materials are available in the right place at the right time.
- Monitor inventory levels, outage reports, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and leadership stakeholders.
- Lead or support sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and RFP processes.
- Participate in new product development projects by working with suppliers on packaging solutions, pricing, testing, and implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buying roles.
- Experience working within an ERP system and utilizing MRP planning processes.
- Background in manufacturing, packaging, ingredients, raw materials, or related procurement categories preferred.
- Strong supplier relationship management and communication skills.
- Experience supporting multiple facilities, locations, or complex supply chains is highly valued.
- Exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFPs, cost-savings initiatives, or supplier scorecards is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a hybrid procurement environment that combines tactical execution with strategic sourcing responsibilities. You'll be someone who can manage daily purchasing activities while also contributing to supplier development, cost optimization, and long-term procurement initiatives.

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Morton Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00/yr. Comprehensive employee benefits, highlighted by zero-monthly-premium medical, dental, and vision insurance.
