DescriptionResearch and Development TechnicianDepartment 502 Research & Development TechnicianClassificationNon-exemptJOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryThe Research & Development Technician assists the R&D Specialist with the development of new products under the supervision and direction of the Research & Development Manager.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Performs the raw trimming cooking (pit operation) processing packaging and shipment of new experimental productsPerforms sanitation of preparation areasHandles the restocking of items used in the preparation processMaintains an up-to-date inventory of retain samplesConduct AS400 transactionsKeep detailed records for each sample (Excel experience a plus)Must be able to stand between 2 3 hours at a timeMust be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net use of gloves use of a company approved frock and rubber boots no jewelry no nail polish or artificial nails no shorts no open-toed shoes no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing no chewing gum candy or tobacco.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. The floors in the environment are often wet and can be slippery. The employee regularly works nearing moving mechanical parts.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.Frequent use/motion of hands wrists and arms are requiredThe employee is often required to stoop kneel crouch or bendPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. 40 hours per week.Hours of work: Typically Monday through Friday rotating 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on and finish times vary depending on assigned department and workload. Weekends and overtime hours are often required.
