We areworking exclusively and directly with the company to fill this position!Fast-paced manufacturer is seeking a Product Design Engineer Mechanical to work in their product engineering department. As the Product Design Engineer Mechanical you will report to the Engineering Supervisor and will be responsible for the following tasks:Utilize 3D modeling software to create mechanical designs based on new and existing product linesEnsure product manufacturability for all designsMake modividuations to current mechanical designs Ensure that the product launch checklist is completed in a timely mannerComplete bill of materials for design projects and enter into the ERP systemFocus on VA/VE and multiple continuous improvement projects to improve production and reduce product costSupport quality initiatives and assist with formal problem solving from a product design standpointAssist the metrology team as needed on product measurement including the use of calipers gauges micrometers etc.Communicate with customers as neededParticipate in new product development meetingsOversee 3-4 design projects at a timeOther duties as directed by managementCandidates should be able to communicate at all levels be able to manage multiple projects at a time and enjoy spending the majority of their time at a desk. The qualified individual will have drive be able to work independently and within a team and be flexible with changing priorities. Bachelors degree in a technical field mechanical related degrees are highly preferred2. At least two years of work experience in similar product design engineering position3. Experience designing mechanical components or parts4. Mechanical troubleshooting skills5. 2D and 3D modeling experience6. Microsoft OfficeSkills preferred but NOT required:1. Automotive supplier work experience highly preferred2. NX or Catia experience3. Formal problem solving4. Applications engineering5. FEA and/or DOE6.
