Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the following locations may be asked to work in person three days per week: Bloomfield, CT, Chattanooga, TN, Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, or Scottsdale, AZ.We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Product Strategy Director to lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team of product managers. This role is accountable for defining and executing product strategy, overseeing the end-to-end product lifecycle, and delivering innovative solutions that drive exceptional customer experiences, operational efficiency, and measurable business outcomes.The Director partners closely with engineering, operations, data, design, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and long-term success. This role is responsible for evolving the product portfolio as technology advances, with a strong focus on applied AI, large language models (LLMs), automation, and modern product development practices.The ideal candidate brings a pragmatic, forward-looking perspective—balancing innovation with scalability, risk, and governance—while translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable results.RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Team Development:Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers across multiple products or product linesFoster a culture of customer-centricity, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvementEstablish clear goals, roles, and career development pathsDrive excellence in product discovery, delivery, and outcomes-based decision makingProduct Vision & Strategy:Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with enterprise goalsOwn and evolve product roadmaps to maximize customer value and business impactIdentify opportunities to leverage technology, data, and process improvementsDrive adoption of AI, LLM-enabled capabilities, automation, and emerging development approachesEvaluate emerging technologies to inform strategyBalance innovation with scalability, governance, and risk managementProduct Development & Delivery:Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch and optimizationGuide teams in modern product management and agile development practicesPromote use of AI-assisted development tools and rapid prototypingPartner with engineering and data teams to ensure AI solutions are secure and compliantEncourage experimentation while maintaining governance frameworksStakeholder Engagement & Influence:Build strong relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional partnersCommunicate product strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes clearlyAlign stakeholders on priorities and success metricsTranslate complex concepts into executive-level insightsMarket, Customer & Trend Analysis:Monitor industry trends and competitive landscapeIncorporate customer insights and market research into product strategyEnsure products are differentiated and deliver maximum valueQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred or equivalent work experience required8+ years of product management experience required3+ years in a people leadership role highly preferredSolid experience developing, coaching and retaining high-performing product managers is highly preferredWorking knowledge of applied AI, large language models (LLMs), and automation concepts requiredAbility to translate technical possibilities into customer and business value is requiredProven success managing multiple, complex product portfoliosExperience delivering technology-enabled solutions in a regulated/complex environment preferredStrong strategic thinking and data-driven decision makingDeep understanding of product discovery and agile practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder managementAbility to lead through ambiguityExperience delivering business outcomes through product solutionsExperience with rapid prototyping and experimentationAbility to explain complex concepts to varied audiencesAble to travel up to 25% as neededIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 161,900 - 269,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.At The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
