Product Support Specialist at Hydac International GmbH

Product Support Specialist

The Product Support Specialist will be required to provide technical support for assigned projects, processes, or product lines.
You will make an impact in this role by:
- Developing a thorough knowledge of the product line.
- Providing technical support both internally and to outside contacts.
- Providing liaison between the customer and sales support.
- Developing and supporting training on products and applications.
- Updating distributors and regional sales managers on product line changes.
- Coordinating with German products and counterparts.
- Maintaining price lists and literature.
- Completing price and technical analysis.
- Using SAP to generate necessary reports.
- Participating in continual improvement initiatives.
- Preparing price quotations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes include:
- Travel 25%-40% of the time.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of database software, development software, internet software, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
- Customer Service: Responds promptly to customer needs; responds to requests for assistance.
- Self-Starter and Motivator: Able to develop effective relationships with distributors, regional sales managers, and customers.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations.
- Written Communication: Writes clearly and informatively.
To be considered for the Product Support Specialist role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
Salary is commensurate with experience, and compensation for this position is between $60,000 - $75,000. HYDAC offers employees a comprehensive medical/dental/vision plan, paid holidays, PTO, 401k with company matching, FSA account, short term disability and life insurance, and pet insurance.
