Location: Oak Ridge TNJob Title: Production Controls AnalystCareer Level From: SpecialistCareer Level To: Senior SpecialistJob Specialty: Production PlanningWhat Youll Do The Production Planning Analyst reports to the Production Control Supervisor and plays a crucial role assisting in driving the manufacturing site working with cross-functional departments and ensuring that production processes run smoothly efficiently and in alignment with customer orders and inventory role acts as a bridge between various departments including production logistics and program managers to optimize production schedules minimize delays and maintain cost efficiency. Duties include reviewing daily and weekly production plans monitoring and reporting on the execution of plans future capacity planning and optimizing the flow of materials and products through the site.Production SchedulingDevelops and maintains detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts sales orders and inventory levelsMaintains production schedule for manufacturing quality testing and/or developmentPrioritizes production tasks to ensure timely delivery of productsAdjusts schedules in response to material shortages machine breakdowns or changes in demand including recovery schedulesRecommends changes in available labor or equipment as requiredClearly communicates schedules to production areas and makes agreement on ability to executeMaterial Planning and CoordinationLeads/participates in material stream meetings ensuring the availability of raw materials components and packaging materials before production beginsWorks with the procurement team to manage inventory levels and prevent shortages or excess stockUses Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to track material needs and deliveriesCapacity PlanningAssesses workforce availability machine capacity and production floor constraintsBalances workloads across different production lines to maximize efficiencyPlans for overtime shift changes or outsourcing if capacity is insufficientProvides long term capacity planIdentifies bottleneck resources for both equipment and laborEvaluates the impact of facility/equipment outages on capacityAssesses capacity impact forms adding and/or removing scope as a part of standard Master Schedule change management processMonitoring and Performance TrackingTracks production progress in real time and resolves any bottlenecks or delaysWorks closely with supervisors and machine operators to ensure adherence to the scheduleAnalyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates downtime and efficiencyCoordination with Other DepartmentsCommunicates with program management and logistics teams to ensure alignment on prioritiesProvides updates on production status delays and any potential risksWorks with quality control to ensure products meet required standards before shipmentRecommends master schedule adjustments as requiredOrganizes accurate report information for the management meetingsProcess Improvement and Cost OptimizationIdentifies inefficiencies in the production process and suggests improvementsImplements lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivityAssists in cost control by optimizing the use of materials labor and equipmentProves in Business Intelligence concepts through data validation and user testingWhat You Can Expect Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global securityTop-notch dedicated colleaguesGenerous pay and benefits with a stable organizationCareer advancement and professional development programsWork-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiativesMinimum Job Requirements Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experienceOR Masters degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experienceIn addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. 2 years job-related experience and 1 year nuclear experience); or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref.
