Job DescriptionJob DescriptionProduction Engineer-Japanese English BilingualFredericktown, OH Position summary: Assist in new model activities from the product developmental stage to determine product design, drawing, process, layout, quality requirement, etc. Upon mass production, optimize production processes for maximum efficiency through the analysis of process/material flow, downtime and scrap reports, capacity studies, and new technology. This includes hands on troubleshooting, root cause analysis of recurring issues, research of new technology, etc. Duties are performed under general supervision and may require frequent conferences concerning progress and difficulties. Duties and responsibilities: Technical expert of intended machine and part function in assigned working area(s)Lead investigation of existing manufacturing equipment improvements related to: safety,quality, efficiency, capacity, layout, etc.Ensure manufacturing processes meet capability requirements through statistical analysis of dimensional inspectionLead the analysis of manufacturing problems to identify and eliminate the root cause of equipment concernsLead New Model activity as assigned including: equipment installation, production trials, customer approval, and technical trainingMay work directly with and manage outside contractorsSupport new technology development including: planning, investigating, scheduling, testing, and enhancement of existing production methodsInterface with machines through PLC, HMI, NC, or Robot controllers to effectively maintain and modify programs as necessaryDevelop presentations using appropriate graphs and charts to effectively communicate intended subject matterEffectively communicate across all levels of the organizationDevelop and manage business plan projectsMaintain Document and Program (NC, PLC, HMI, Robot, etc.) control in accordance withQMS requirementsMay design jigs, fixtures, or tooling using Catia or similar software to produce appropriate drawings using engineering best practicesMay maintain, create, or modify plant layout in AutoCADPerform administrative tasks in setting objectives or concepts for new product specifications and accomplish any relevant tasks assigned in this matterPerform administrative tasks in analyzing cost and realizing profitability for new product development Have high-level understanding of all important customer event dates as well as deadline to perform administrative tasks to carrying out internal developmental planUnderstand product functions and assist in determining manufacturing methods and process layout, and process detailsUnderstand product functions and assist in creating and developing drawings to secure such features (internal and external drawing development)Understand product functions and assist in setting quality specifications to secure such features (from the development stage)May manage direct reportsMaintain a high level of housekeeping (COP)Provides leadership and support to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase your associates skills and capabilities.All other duties as assignedDesired Qualifications: 1. EducationAssociate Degree or Higher: in mechanical or electrical engineering or any combination of equivalent experience and education2. ExperienceManufacturing experience in the machining/metal cutting industry or aluminum die casting desired3. Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPointCAD: Catia, AutoCAD, InventorPLEXVarious PLC, HMI, Motion Control, etc. software as needed4. Personal/Other SkillsSelf-starter mentality and ability to work independentlyAbility to solve complex problems through analysis to propose and implement appropriate countermeasuresBasic robotics, PLC, and NC programming knowledge is helpfulBasic presentation skillsGood written and verbal communicationAbility to manage multiple projects and set prioritiesUnderstand technical drawings including: geometric tolerances, ladder logic, pneumatics,hydraulics, assembliesWorking knowledge of safety standards. 5.
