Join our winning team of Wave Makers and Go Getters and help us write the next chapter in the SCJ story.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Production Line Shift Supervisor will manage the production activities of shift team members while promoting and enforcing SH&E and quality standards with production this role you will provide visibility on the plant floor to build rapport with your team members as well you will evaluate and mentor your team to increase productivity and inspire positive morale.C Shift: (7pm-7am)KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises shift team members ensuring productivity safety and product qualityMaintains the weekly production schedules and mediate any staffing or mechanical issuesBuilds the team through training development and positive reinforcementsEnsures plant production targets are achievedManage labor staffing and planning for a shift including flow-to-work needs to support businessDelegates work assignments and perform standup meetingsCompletes performance reviews for team members within area of responsibilityMaintains employee records compliance documentation and approves timecardsFollows existing protocols and enforces internal policiesAssists in the resolution of employee conflict and discipline issues as they occur while striving for consistency and fairnessConducts on-shift safety quality and production incident investigationsKey contact for all Waxdale emergency issues as they arise on shiftPartner with support functions and key personnel to keep them apprised of shift-related activityParticipate in task forces and core groups that resolve Waxdale shift-related issuesMaintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with SCJ policies procedures and in line with SCJ core valuesOwn performance management write-ups and reviews for shift operatorsConduct investigations and administer disciplines as neededREQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING5 years working in a manufacturing environment or University Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience or an advanced degree with 1 years relevant work experience1 years in a leadership roleQualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employmentPREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLSDemonstrated experience working within a continuous improvement environment in the areas of production quality and Lean manufacturing principlesOpen honest communication style with interpersonal and facilitation skillsAssertive self-starter with high initiative and ability to prioritize effectivelySolid organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to deliver effective coaching and mentoringKnowledge of all areas of operation at WaxdaleAbility to identify actionable business critical goals that can be influenced by business work teamsAbility to convert goals into actions and execute for resultsTeam player who enjoys working with others and gets satisfaction from seeing others perform wellExperience leading high performance work teamsKnowledge of plant preventative predictive and corrective maintenance activitiesJOB REQUIREMENTSWorking conditions may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 poundsRequires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses hearing protectors and steel toed work bootsExposure to noise and subject to regular bending twisting and reachingThis position is not eligible for remote workThis position is not eligible for relocationBENEFITS AND PERKSSCJ Johnsons total compensation packages are at or above industry addition to salary total packages may include bonuses long-term incentives matching 401(k) contributions and profit sharing based on company profitability job level and years of service.
