Our exceptional quality is driven by a deep investment in and the daily practice of continually improving our people, processes, and products.About the Opportunity:The Production Planner position is responsible for a variety of analytical and administrative duties within the designated cells, in conjunction with creating and releasing job orders through the ERP system.Location: Manchester, CTThis role will be onsite 100% of the time.Responsibilities: Plans, schedules and coordinates with the manufacturing supervision to avoid potential bottlenecks, preventing production delaysPlaces the purchasing requisitions and amends purchase orders for materials and services required throughout the production of hardwareDetermines the workload verses the shop capacity to maintain the manufacturing schedule priorities Recommends off-load or other actions to solve the capacity problemsTracks the revised requirements for maintaining on-time customer deliveryWorks closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing Supervision, and ManagementOrders materials, tracks shortages, and maintains and controls inventory levels in the Bond Room and parts on the shop floorSplits the processes and the adding of engineering change noticesIssues the material to the shop floor enabling a steady workflowInvestigates and corrects the inconsistencies of the vendor packing slipsCreates the processes for the drop-ship material and their stock requisitionsKeeps accurate records for the job and lot numbersKeeps track of the purchase orders for timely delivery to support the production requirementsMonitors the quality and standard procedures and assists the Supervisor in resolving issuesPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and two (2) years of related experience, or Five (5) years of related experienceAPICS training/certification is a plus Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of production scheduling and purchasing processes in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of creating/modifying mechanical drawings with any popular CAD system Knowledge of MRP systemsComputer skills including fluency with Microsoft Office Products Planning skillsAnalytical thinking skillsInterpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skillsOrganizational skills with the ability to prioritize Physical Requirements: Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
