JOB DESCRIPTION
Process Coach
As a Process Coach, you will be pivotal in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through standardized work. You will optimize throughput in alignment with budgets and cost objectives, monitor ANDON occurrences, and act as the first responder for secondary support. Your role involves verifying that production lines are operating safely and efficiently, supporting Kaizen initiatives, and fostering team development and communication. You will also be responsible for meeting targets related to inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses, while building Team Leader and Team Member capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coach safety, quality, and productivity to meet objectives through standardized work.
- Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives.
- Monitor ANDON occurrences and act as the first responder for secondary support.
- Verify that the production line is running safely and producing quality parts.
- Support Kaizen and coach problem resolution at the lowest level.
- Facilitate effective communication and recognition within the team.
- Meet targets for FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses.
- Develop Team Leader and Team Member capabilities.
- Create a conducive work environment for team responsibilities and tasks.
- Administer basic supervisory responsibilities and documentation.
Essential Skills:
- 3+ years of recent experience in automotive supervision, ideally overseeing UAW employees.
- Ability to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends.
- Leadership skills in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in production supervision, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of six sigma, sub assembly, machining, and welding.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience managing a UAW workforce is a plus.
- Good job tenure.
- Experience in a sub assembly environment with machining and welding areas is advantageous.

Work Environment:
The work environment consists of approximately 2,400 total employees, with about 2,150 being UAW hourly workers. The operation runs on a 3-shift schedule around the clock, requiring flexibility to work any shift and adjust as business needs dictate. Expect to work 6-7 days a week, with potential for extended periods without a day off. Overtime is standard, including weekend shifts. Current products include rear and front axles for various vehicle models. Shift times include 1st shift (10:30 PM - 6:30 AM), 2nd shift (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM), and 3rd shift (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM), with supervisors required to arrive at least 30 minutes before their shift. There is also a rotating shift schedule of 5 AM - 5 PM and 5 PM - 5 AM, which requires openness to flexible scheduling.

This is a Contract position based out of STERLING HEIGHTS, MI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.94/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
