Production Supervisor at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Production Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee and manage production lines in an automotive setting, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, coach, and direct team leaders and labor with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the UAP Manager
- Plan headcount, including managing absences, holidays, training, and workshops
- Complete daily attendance registers and handle ADP data entry, approving employee time and updating schedules
- Conduct standardized work audits and ensure compliance with Standardized Work protocol
- Manage the closure of line QRCI's and coach team leaders to independently resolve issues
- Ensure adherence to the principles of 7 Quality Basics, including OK First Part, Poka Yoke, and Self-inspection
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, 5S, and good housekeeping practices
- Promote continuous improvement and encourage team input on improvement ideas
- Promote a safe work environment and conduct necessary interviews such as disciplinary, return to work, and performance evaluations
- Validate operator polyvalence levels and set weekly targets
Essential Skills
- Experience in supervisory roles within a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of production management, safety standards, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to lead and coach teams effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage departmental performance measures
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
