JOB DETAILSThe Production Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations within a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Beyond supervision they also coach resolve issues train and serve as a link between direct reports and upper management.Day Shift 6:00 am - 4:30 pm hours and Saturday work may vary depending on operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitates the manufacture of building products to meet production demands while ensuring quality safety and productivityCollaborates with plant leadership to develop staffing guidelines optimizing resource utilization while controlling costsHires supervises evaluates and replaces staff as required to meet performance goalsDevelops and trains employees for increasing responsibilities conducts periodic evaluations and holds safety and production meetings daily. Drives initiatives of 5S cost reduction and quality improvementConducts Interviews and identifies qualified candidates for hireAssigns personnel oversees rotations and maintains effective communication during shift changes and troubleshootingEnsures accurate completion of paperwork related to line operation including logs audits and corrective actions Readily addresses any urgent production or shipping requirements even if it disrupts the regular workflow Knowledge and understanding of all safety polices and regulations and ability to address all unsafe acts and conditionsAdministers policies fairly and consistentlyProvides coaching and counselling to employees and corrective action when needed following company guidelinesPromotes overall goals of company in safety quality delivery and costIdentifies and assists with implementations for continuous process improvement. Uses data to improve and refine production processManages materials to reduce waste and support qualityCollaborates with other departments to ensure timely job completionsHighly developed oral and written communication skills combines with the ability to educate and train employees in a production environmentPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications : High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required2 Year associate degree or a bachelors degree in related field preferred but not requiredMinimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment requiredDemonstrated ability to supervise motivate mentor and train employees on a regular basisMust have basic Microsoft knowledgeExperience with side forklift bander nail gun overhead crane saws stretch wrap machine and various pneumatic equipment preferred not requiredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistMobility - prolonged periods of time on feet standing bending etc.Exposure Moving mechanical parts fumes airborne particles and non-climate-controlled environmentNoise Tolerance High noise levelsAdditional Information : Site Address:  14031 West Hardy Road Houston TX 77060This is a position with the potential overtime.
