Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains machine production goals, according to company core values (safety, employee engagement, quality, on time delivery, maximize profit).
  • Reports issues and urgent items to Production Manager and fellow supervisors.
  • Works with Sales, Engineering, and Quality to answer all questions related to production scheduling, lead times, machine readiness, and material conditions.
  • Aids in the development, management, and the implementation of Production Policies and Procedures.
  • Complies with, demonstrates, and imposes all company safety rules and regulations; audits, reviews and edits JSA's.
  • Inspects and monitors work areas and employees' behaviors for unsafe acts or unsafe conditions and takes corrective actions.
  • Reviews jobs for appropriate specifications and the department's ability to run them when new orders are placed.
  • Communicates production schedules with the previous and following shift.
  • Coach employees in all areas of work to promote a productive working environment.
  • Assess shift employees' performances and prepare annual evaluation reports.
  • Initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
  • Monitors and tracks daily attendance of all employees on shift.
  • Issues maintenance work orders if necessary to ensure efficient operation of machinery.
  • Develop and maintain training plans for employee skill development.
  • Participates in rotation of supervisors to ensure 2nd shift has a resource to call on nights.
  • Learn how to operate machines and apply problem solving techniques when issues arise.

Required Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma/GED required.
  • At least 2 years of related leadership experience in a high-speed, high-volume working environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of production operations, logistics and equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Overtime and weekend work could be required
  • Ability to work effectively with all other employees
  • Continuous process improvement will be required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A positive attitude
  • The capacity and desire to learn
  • The ability to pass both a pre-employment background and drug screening

Working Conditions (Including Physical and Mental Demands):

  • Manual dexterity for use of computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed
  • Ability to speak, hear and interpret sounds and speech
  • Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day, occasionally 8+ hours, occasionally position will require stooping, kneeling or crouching for less than 8 hours per day
  • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work environment is consistent with an office setting
  • Occasional exposure to loud noises.
  • Occasional Travel
