You will never stop learning at Nucor and when you are ready to take the next step in your career were ready too.Basic Job Functions: Nucor Towers & Structures Inc a division of Nucor the nations largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Structural Engineer Intern at our business unit located in Rock Hill SC. Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Duties of the successful candidate include but are not limited to the following:Assist in reviewing utility customer drawing packages and specifications.Support the design and analysis of tubular steel utility structuresprimarily transmission distribution and substation structuresto meet national codes industry standards and customer requirements.Learn to use 3D structural modeling software for pole design along with proprietary calculation tools for component designs.Collaborate with teammates in sales detailing project management and production.Communicate effectively with internal and external customers including other design professionals.Work on-site at the designated office location to engage in team collaboration and work schedule will align with the selected engineering mentor typically Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringPreferred Qualifications: Pursuing a Masters degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringExperience in the transmission and distribution systems industry; utility structure design preferredExperience in steel product design or steel product manufacturingFamiliarity with PLS-Pole softwareExperience in a customer-facing or fast-paced work environmentNucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/Disabled/Vets and a drug free workplaceRequired Experience:Intern Key Skills Campaigns,Abinitio,AutoCAD 3D,Hardware & Networking,Customer Support,Arabic Employment Type : Intern Experience: years Vacancy: 1
