The department is looking for individuals with the skills and experience to contribute to the professional and experiential components of its Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. The initial appointment will be for a three-year term with the possibility of renewal.Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:Knowledge, Skills and Experience to improve the lives of others. Public Policy is an interdisciplinary social science major designed to provide students with the theoretical perspective, analytical skill, and substantive knowledge needed to respond to major domestic and global policy problems. A double major in Public Policy and a related social science or professional school is common.Position Summary:Teach six courses per academic year (3 courses per semester), with the possibility of a course reduction for taking on administrative responsibilities in the MPP program. Courses will include the MPP Capstone (PLCY 992), courses in professional development, and additional core and elective courses that align with the candidate’s expertise. All courses are taught in-person. Additional responsibilities include career mentoring and placement assistance for MPP students.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Master’s degree in public policy or a related field, as well as substantial professional experience beyond academia in policy analysis, implementation, and/or evaluation.Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Teaching experience and a desire to train and work with a large body of students.Special Physical/Mental Requirements:N/ACampus Security Authority Responsibilities:Not Applicable.
