As part of this growth, the Department of Electrical Engineering is looking for a dynamic faculty member for the full Professor rank to begin in Fall 2026.Applicants for the Full Professor rank must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field of study with years of relevant academic experience to commensurate with academic policy, plus a strong, sustained record of excellence in research and teaching, including competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaborations.We seek candidates with expertise and established track records in the power and energy systems area and especially candidates who apply AI and computing to advance knowledge and discovery in their research field. Examples of research areas include but are not limited to: Distribution Grid Design and Operation, Bulk Grid Planning and Operation, Electric Machines, Energy Conversion, and Power Electronics Converters and Systems.The University is also a partner in the management and operation of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River National Laboratory with a goal of expanding collaborative research partnerships and developing the advanced workforce for the Lab. Therefore, the Department is interested in applicants whose programs will support DOE priorities in energy security, national security, and sustainability.Review of applications will begin December 2025 and continue until positions are filled.
