DescriptionIf you are looking for an opportunity to build your Prognostics Engineering experience and drive the development of new technologies Emerson has a great opportunity for you.The Prognostics Engineer will lead all aspects of the entire lifecycle of diagnostic and prognostic health monitoring technology for equipment used in the process control industry. Emphasis will be on implementation and support of physics and data driven predictive models and extension of algorithms to new applications and use cases. The ideal candidate must have a customer-first mentality a good understanding of data analysis and algorithm development hands-on laboratory investigation and written and verbal communication of results.Key function includes working closely with the marketing advanced technology and software program teams to manage the multi-location engineering collaboration of prognostics development activities. Identify creative and unique methodologies to accelerate hardware sensor and analytics development and testing that meet and exceed customer requirements. IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:Design develop test and deploy prognostic and sophisticated diagnostic algorithms for industrial control valves and associated equipmentCollaborate with a diverse team of Engineers Data Scientists SMEs and Collaborators to create and integrate prognostics solutions into systemsAnalyze and interpret data from sensors diagnostics and maintenance records to identify failure modes trends and anomaliesCreate algorithms to detect fault conditions and figure out remaining useful life (RUL) of the system based on sensor data failure modes and degradation modelsDetermine the optimal type number and location of sensors for the system based on the prognostic objectives performance criteria and constraintsCreate clear concise and verifiable engineering requirement documents and engineering plans to achieve project goalsWHO YOU ARE: You design processes and procedures that allow managing from a distance. You evaluate pros and cons risks and benefits of different solution options. You provide timely and effective information to individuals across the organization. You push yourself and help others achieve results. You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:Preference will be given to those who have earned advanced degrees. Hands-on laboratory classwork related to measurement and instrumentation and experience with sensors and general metrology modelling of physical systems and algorithm development are considered a plusBachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics or in any applicable field.5 years relevant industry experienceControl valve business knowledge and experience desiredExperience with predictive model development is desiredExperience at collaborating with diverse work groupsExperience with engineering and signal processing development toolsAuthorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the futureIndividuals with temporary visas such as E F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT) H-1 H-2 L-1 B J or TN or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire. MUST be US Citizen or possess a Green CardPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:Experience with developing and applying prognostic algorithms and models for complex systems and components.
