Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary : The Homeschool Enrichment Program Assistant at Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools Inc.(ACACS) plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality classical education within a structured, traditional classroom environment. Under the guidance and supervision of the Program Director, the Program Assistant provides support in the classroom and with front office operations. This position supports teachers, students, and administration in a manner that reflects the school's commitment to academic excellence and character development. We are looking for help on Fridays for the duration of the school year- in addition to a required monthly staff meeting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Supports a content-rich classical education by following program guidelines and expectations. Assist with classroom "housekeeping" items such as collecting, organizing, copying worksheets, distributing materials and items, and keeping a tidy classroomAssist Teachers in implementing classroom activities that require extra assistance and supervision of studentsAssist with daily operations of the school, such as supervision of beginning and end of day routines and procedures, lunch and recess times, and other transitional periodsMaintain confidentiality in student recordsMaintain a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learnersEffectively communicate with supervisor and teammatesDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.Other duties as assignedPosition Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCommitment to the policies, mission, and vision of ACACSCommitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtuesWillingness to perform other related duties as assignedAdherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, HSE Family Handbook, and applicable school and board policiesExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate information and issuesProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing organizational skills and flexibilityAbility to develop positive and professional interactions with students, colleagues and parentsCreative problem-solving skills and adaptability to challengesPatience, reliability, and a positive attitudeDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for submitting time off requestsProficiency in English verbal and writtenPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 30 poundsAbility to lift, move and carry cumbersome objectsMust be able to traverse the classroom and school and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to interact with childrenProlonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing Must be able to supervise outdoor activitiesMandatory Background Checks: In alignment with our commitment to student safety, all candidates are required to undergo a comprehensive background check, which includes reviewing criminal records and may require fingerprinting.
