Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County (BGCLC) is a place for kids to laugh a place to learn a place to grow and a place to belong.It is the dedication of caring and trained professionals that make this possible for our youth.BGCLC is looking for an energetic fun-loving adaptable individual to help foster a fun safe and positive after-school experience for youth ages 6-18 in the Loveland CO area.Essential Duties and Major ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for creating implementing and overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs (including academic enrichment character development recreation technology sports and the arts)Establish program objectives consistent with the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development (Fun Safe & Positive Environment Recognition Supportive Relationships and Expectations).Provide guidance and act as a mentor/role model for our youth.Lead and implement Club-wide educational events or activities.Ensure the completion of BGCA contests projects and incentives.Transportation & Recruitment: Throughout the school semester attend school events with the intention of sharing information about and recruiting for Club With Club Director support identify 3-4 high yield schools and attend their events regularly Identify 2-3 further schools/community centers and attend their events quarterly Drive BGCLC transportation routes throughout the afterschool and summer programs Pick-up routes after school Pick-up routes in the morning (summer program full days) Drop off routes in the evening both afterschool and summer Field trip routes as assigned Assist with other duties as assignedThis part-time non-exempt 25 hours/week position starts at $18/hour ($18.50/hour - Bilingual Spanish skills)RequirementsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:EducationBachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning in education human or social services or a related field of study or 2-4 years relevant experience or combination of education and experience.Experience2 years of experience in working with children in a youth development environment is required.At least two years of experience in public speaking teaching/group facilitation and experience and comfort level are working with representatives from agencies community-based organizations and youth is preferred.Must have a strong sincere interest in working with children.Minimum Qualifications Requirements:Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.Demonstrated ability to comfortably and without judgment communicate about sensitive subjects with youth and parents.Ability to maintain confidentiality secure personal information and comply with mandated reporting requirements.Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.Valid State Drivers License with good driving record.Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.Preferred Qualifications:Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly recommended.What we offer:Employee Assistance ProgramAn opportunity to help positively shape the next generation of leadersA supportive teamPersonal and professional growth opportunitiesAn engaging and fun work environmentBoys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerPhysical Demands and Work Environment:(The phrases occasionally regularly and frequently correspond to the following definitions: occasionally means up to 1/3 of working time regularly means between 1/3 and 2/3 of working time and frequently means 2/3 and more of working time.)The work environment is the typical youth mentorship or after-school environment and/ or office environment.
