Class SummaryJob DescriptionThe Program Leader will be serving as a key liaison for community members and citizen inquires addressing questions and concerns related to recreational programs special events and facility rentals. This role involves developing curriculum coordinating with contract instructors maintaining structured schedules for rentalsprograms and daily operations in collaboration with the staff and vendors while aligning activities with departmental goals and community needs.Essential DutiesCoordinating and supervising daily operations including staff scheduling and training marketing and public engagementOverseeing the planning implementation and evaluation of programs activities and special events for diverse age groups and socioeconomic communitiesManaging rental bookings for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor facilitiesMaintaining accurate records including registrations attendances deposits cash handlingsfinancial documentations and facility usage reportsEnsuring that all operations comply with department policies and safety protocolsAssisting with programs event development and record keepingSupporting and leading community outreach efforts to promote programs increase participation and ensure inclusive and responsive service deliveryPublic SpeakingAddressing groups and individuals in a public setting to express the department missions and goalsActing asthe Master of Ceremonies for events and programsOther Job Requirements/InformationThis job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidaysStrong organizational time-management and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with point-of-sale systems scheduling software and record-keeping tools is an assetMotivated to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.GradeThe Grade for this position is B221. The salary will be based on education and experienceMinimum QualificationsAssociate degree in Parks and Recreation Health and Human Services Senior Services or a related field ANDOne year of related experienceOr an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be consideredValid drivers license CPR Certification (within 6 months of employment)First Aid Certification (within 6 months of employment)Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualificationsAssociate degree in Recreation Public Service Education Events Managementor Hospitality ANDTwo years of recreational program experienceFor information related to position-specific essential duties knowledge and skills and physical requirementspleaseclick hereNote: The class specifications listed on this website are not the official class specifications for Gwinnett County and are subject to change.
