This pivotal role bridges complex engineering disciplines regulatory compliance and strategic project management to ensure the safety and airworthiness of emerging aircraft technologies.The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional regulatory process knowledge and strategic leadership skills working with cross-functional teams to develop high fidelity plans and timely execution of certification activities. The candidate will be highly adept at collaborating with internal teams including engineering certification supply chain quality and production as well as external stakeholders including FAA Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) suppliers and contractors. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills capable of navigating the challenges of a dynamic growing organizationServe as the principal program manager overseeing the entire aircraft certification program coordinating and leading system-level Program ManagersDirect and align other Program Managers responsible for specific aircraft systems e.g. Structural design Flight control systems Avionics etc.Manage planning and completion of certification activities from initial application through final type certificate issuance and into production certificationDevelop and maintain detailed project plans and tracking mechanisms to communicate schedules progress budget and status to all levels of the businessCoordinate design reviews and major milestone activities with necessary teamsManage overall program risk by coordinating risk mitigation strategies among system-level Program Managers while owning risk assessment and mitigation strategies at the aircraft levelEstablish a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to ensure alignment between engineering certification quality supply chain finance and manufacturing teams with the overall business strategyMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering related field or relevant experience10 years of project or program management experience in commercial aviationDeep understand of regulatory certification processes including type certification production certification and international validationProven track record of managing complex projects or programs from inception to completion demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skillsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead teamsExcellent ability to be organized without predetermined structureAble to be a pragmatic and creative thinker when solving complex problem in a dynamic environmentWillingness to be a team player and wear different hats on different days depending on the needDemonstrated knowledge of Project Management software (Microsoft Project Jira etc.)Familiar with: Microsoft Office product suiteAbove and Beyond Qualifications:Project Management Professional (PMP) CertificationExperience with AS9100 Quality Management$115000 - $155000 a yearThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
