Program Manager Universal Stage Adapter at Leidos

Leidos is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our Universal Stage Adapter program supporting NASAs Space Launch System. The Program Manager will join a team of diverse collaborative engineers and functional staff who deliver innovative cost-effective solutions to meet national commercial and military space priorities.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Program Manager will lead the team responsible for the design development manufacture and testing of the Universal Stage Adapter hardware supporting the NASA Space Launch System program. The Program Manager is responsible for the planning tracking and execution of complex technical tasks within cost schedule and performance constraints. The program involves diverse technology areas including large scale composites hardware manufacturing structures mechanical systems payload environment control assembly/integration/test and system integration. The Program Manager is the primary interface to the customer and Leidos leadership.Responsibilities include:Create project plans and maintain project objectivesOversee the technical scope under the assigned control accountsLead program level meetings and set expectations for project teamEvaluate and guide daily execution activities including oversight of Integrated Project Teams functional support subcontractors and vendorsReview integrated master schedule and work with IPT leads to maintain scheduleManage program risk and identify opportunities including working with the IPTs to develop mitigation strategies and plans to realize opportunitiesSupport earned value reporting to the customerEvaluate program technical and programmatic metrics to ensure successful executionExecute program to meet or exceed profitability goalsDevelop manage coordinate and present various informational products including:Monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs)Weekly senior management meetingsInternal and external programmatic reviewsCustomer IPT meetingsTracking and providing status of internal and external action itemsFoster intra-project coordination and communicationBasic QualificationsA bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited university with previous program management experience is required.10 years relevant experience as a project/program manager and 15 years of experience with aerospace product development and production programs.Experience supporting a multi-year development/production program valuing more than $100M.Previous experience executing an Earned Value Management programEffective communication skills for information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skills with senior customer and corporate leadershipStrong understanding of hardware development manufacturing procurement production and integrationExperience in cost estimating and budget managementExperience in managing subcontractors as a supplier manager or project/program managerPreferred QualificationsThe following skills/abilities are desired:Experience with manned space flight programsEngineering degree(s) in a relevant fieldComposite manufacturing experienceLeading a large and diverse team including suppliers and subcontractorsProven experience in managing and meeting tight schedules and metric-driven program managementProject management qualification (PMP) or equivalentProficient using Microsoft Excel Word Project and PowerPointProven leadership skills including working in a team environment fostering communication listening to teammate concerns and reconciling internal issues or differencesProven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound decisionsAnalytical and strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written abilityCandidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area.
