Project Accountant Compensation: $30-$37 per hour DOE
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support project financial operations and collaborate closely with Project Managers and leadership. This role plays a key part in project setup, budgeting, reporting, billing, and compliance within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Proactively partner with Project Managers to collect required documentation and information for new project setup within the ERP system
  • Support monthly project Over/Under reports by leveraging budgeting and financial analysis experience
  • Review and distribute monthly KPI reports to Project and Senior Management teams, including job cost reports, change orders, and project closeout documentation
  • Review contract documents to verify financial details and ensure project compliance
  • Prepare monthly revenue projections and compile billing details for internal review prior to client submission
  • Review, prepare, and maintain subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, preliminary notices, lien waivers, and certificates of insurance
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend or implement procedures, tools, or workflows that enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Assist management with various administrative and accounting-related tasks as needed
  • Perform basic office functions such as answering phone calls and scanning documents
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction, environmental, or related industries preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook required
  • Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred
  • Prior experience working with procurement portals such as Taulia, Textura, Coupa, Ariba, or similar platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and reasoning abilities
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
