We are seeking a dynamic Consulting Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This role is critical to our business operations and will provide a broad range of financial management and analytical support to our project teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a knack for problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Project Accountant, you will:
1. Manage the full cycle of project accounting activities, including the preparation and maintenance of project budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
2. Coordinate and execute general ledger functions, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
3. Analyze financial data and prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive financial statements, reports, and presentations.
4. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
5. Conduct financial audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
6. Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs, track progress, and ensure financial objectives are met.
7. Use advanced Excel skills to manipulate and interpret large data sets, and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
8. Provide financial guidance and support to project teams, and assist with strategic decision-making.
9. Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Consulting Project Accountant position should possess the following:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with a focus on project accounting in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in general ledger functions, accounts payable and receivable, financial statements, forecasting, internal controls, financial reporting, and budgeting.
4. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and cost control practices.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and other advanced functions.
7. Experience with project management and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
9. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in all work.
