Project Engineer (Assistant Project Manager) at Thompson Concrete Construction

Job Summary:The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in ensuring the project is completed on time within budget and on schedule and administrative duties.Duties/Responsibilities:Follows Mission Vision ValuesAssists with project startupResponsible for all information in the supervisor folderTravels to jobsitesRecommends and/or analyzes material equipment and practices used in the projectCollaborates to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials time labor and other resources required to complete the jobAssesses the competence capabilities resources and financial status of vendorsSupports on-site Project Managers and Superintendents with administrative/field tasksUpdates all logs including change order gravel and concrete logsPerforms all activities required in the change orderAssists with closeouts goals problem solving logistical needs and resource planningCreates comparison worksheets and gathers material quotesTracks and invoices specialty equipment to appropriate cost codeAccurately codes project invoicesAssists Superintendent obtain all required documentation including certificates lien wavers disclaimers warrantees etc.Performs other related duties as assigned/needed up to and including all laborer dutiesRequired Skills/Abilities:Effective presentation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent budgeting and cost containment skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with Microsoft Outlook Word and ExcelProficient with ProContractor and Blue-BeamExcellent understanding of construction drawingsExcellent math skillsEducation and Experience:4-year college degree in construction management or equivalent job experienceValid drivers license or State IDCPR and First Aid (Thompson will train)Physical Requirements:Must be able to kneel crouch balance climb and crawlMust be able to traverse different types of worksites and bend climb stretch and reachMust be able to exert physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 poundsMust be able to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to concrete dirt fumes and loud noise levelsMust be able to work long hours and Saturdays when neededRequired Tools:Tape measureBootsHammerComplete tool beltSalary: $50000.00 - $70000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeAbility to commute/relocate:Columbus OH: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Required Experience:IC Key Skills Critical Care,B2C,Commerce,ABAP,Adobe Flash,Clinical Employment Type : Contract Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Yearly Salary Salary: 50000 - 70000
