This position will manage new product development including applications, detail design, and project engineering.Duties / Responsibilities This position will be responsible for all aspects of their assigned engineering projects. This includes:Applications EngineeringWorks with the sales team and customers to gather application data and provide initial feasibility assessment and design concepts Works with the sales team to develop bids by providing cost and lead time estimationsPerforms detailed analyses for designs as required to verify the maintenance of performance targets and conformance to established best practicesProvides expert technical consultation to sales team and directly to customers on product requirements.Design EngineeringMaintains Engineering Documentation for projects as required by the governing Quality Management System Produces detailed drawing packages including customer-approval drawings as well as manufacturing drawings and component drawingsAssists Manufacturing Engineering in the formulation of work instructions for manufacturing as well as providing additional manufacturing instructions and procedures where requiredProvides design review for designs produced by other Project EngineersProject EngineeringAssists Manufacturing Engineering in the transfer of projects to procurement and production staff Guides parts through production, ensuring compliance with all relevant project requirementsManages the engineering project timeline through the applications and design phases.Devises and oversees qualification test plans and writes qualification test reports where necessary Helps to maintain Porvair’s status as a provider of world-class filtration solutionsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similarEffective communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent project management and organizational skills An established and practical approach to engineering challengesHigh mechanical and problem-solving aptitudeTechnological proficiencies including MS Excel, MS Project and Autodesk Inventor/AutoCADWe offer a comprehensive benefits package with a 401k match, as well as a safe and clean working environment.
