Professional Development Education.Job SummaryThe Project Engineer Structural will coordinate and manage engineering work on projects of varying sizes with oversight by an experienced engineer as appropriate based on complexity and relevant project experience.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdopt a positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable constructible affordable and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of ChoiceOversee design engineers with project manager oversight to ensure projects are prepared on time and in accordance with code and client requirementsEnsure the engineering and financial success of assigned projectsContribute to the development of engineering plans and designs with project manager supervisionMeet schedule and budget-hour estimates as developed by own proposal preparation and/or as provided by project managerPerform full designs on projects of varying size with appropriate oversight by an experienced engineerSeal reports and drawings for project work after quality control reviewPrepare redline drawing markups for drafting department implementation and ensure accuracy of the completed drawings in comparison to the intent of redline markupsPrepare calculations and drawings consistent with established standards for quality control submissionsDiscuss design intent overall structural systems and load path with project manager prior to design work to ensure efficient performance and quality assuranceProvide hours estimates for large project proposals for use by project managerPrepare project proposals for small and mid-sized projects for review and approval by project managerSubmit prime and subconsultant contract agreements purchase order terms and conditions lien waivers and non-disclosure agreements to the contracts team for legal and insurance review and negotiationInteract directly with external clients to develop relationships and work on projects secured by own proposalsAttend design meetings construction meetings and site visits on own with direction from experienced engineer as neededComply with company policies and proceduresParticipate in continuing education webinars and education sessions and maintain required professional development hours for state license(s)Participate in networking and business development opportunitiesPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge Experience and SkillsBachelors degree in Structural Engineering Civil Engineering Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis or a closely related field is requiredRegistration as a professional engineer (PE/SE) required5-8 years of related engineering experienceExcellent budgeting and cost containment skillsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to supervise and lead othersProficient with Risa 3D RAM Tedds or similar company-approved structural analysis softwareAbility to present hand-written calculations in an organized and legible mannerProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate project records Key Skills Stress Analysis,Structural Design,Structural Engineering,Structural Steel,Mathcad,Engineering designs,Aerospace,CAD,Construction Documents,Autocad,Engineering Drawings,Structural Analysis,Layouts,Catia,ANSYs Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
