Project Estimator at Volt

Volt is immediately hiring for a Project Estimator in Portland, OR.

As a Project Estimator you will:

• Assist in performing quantity takeoffs and preparing cost estimates.
• Collect vendor quotes and compare pricing for materials and labor.
• Help develop bid proposals, scope sheets, and cost breakdowns.
• Maintain organized project files, data, and estimate logs.
• Participate in project handoff meetings to support project management.
• Support senior estimators with research, data entry, and scope analysis.

The ideal candidate will have:

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings, and to interpret design details and ensure they are accurately captured in the generation of sales proposals.
• Ability to understand both labor and material costs associated with the fabrication and installation of large architectural millwork and ornamental metal projects.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel with a high level of knowledge.
• Ability to generate and track RFI's, both incoming and outgoing.
• Create and maintain fabrication, shipping and installation schedules.
• Review and compile lists of potential changes to budget and/or schedule.
• Maintain and follow up on open item/issue lists per project.
• Prepare documentation for analysis and review of specific issues.
• Direct and/or document project meetings as requested.
• Perform special projects as required.
• Promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
• Regularly consult with shop lead personnel for accurate labor hours or issues not indicated on drawings.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Pay Rate: $30 - $34 per hour.

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
