Working with external architects, engineers, other consultants and contractors, responsibilities will include coordination of planning, design, bidding, on-site construction administration and close-out procedures. Monitor/manage schedules, project budgets, feasibility studies, cost estimation and value engineering for capital and occasional maintenance projects. Monitor and control contractual commitments to assure performance of work including, but not limited to, compliance with drawings and specifications. Engage other University entities as required to support the management and implementation of projects. Monitor small contractor opportunities. Coordinate with the Office of the State Engineer and other state and local authorities as required.Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering/engineering technology or construction management and 5 years of experience. Experience with Higher Education, Medical or Athletics programming, design and constructionKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications; to build, plan and work within budgeted resources; to estimate work and work within a changing work setting; to interpret and apply rules and regulations; to manage work and associate with project managers and staff; to make presentations and prepare reports.Ability to develop a wide base of close customer relationships; to interact with various levels of personnel; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to use technology; and involve stakeholders.Job Duty:Assists Project Management staff with the planning and implementation of capital projects.
