Job Details
Qualification:
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in construction project management, with direct exposure to MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and full project lifecycle execution (preconstruction through closeout)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of field and project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, including field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, while maintaining alignment with project scope, schedule, and contract requirements
- Proficiency in cost control, budget management, forecasting, and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of job cost tracking and margin optimization
- Experience developing and managing CPM schedules, coordinating procurement activities, and mitigating project risk through proactive planning
- Strong working knowledge of construction management platforms and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) in addition to Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
What You Will Be Doing:
- Morning coordination and planning: Reviewing the project schedule (often CPM-based), identifying critical path items, and aligning with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors on daily priorities and manpower needs
- Field and subcontractor management: Communicating with trade partners (mechanical, electrical, plumbing subs), resolving installation issues, coordinating sequencing between trades, and ensuring work is progressing per drawings and specs
- Client and stakeholder communication: Acting as the main point of contact for owners, engineers, and inspectors, providing updates, handling RFIs, and addressing any scope or design clarifications
- Financial oversight: Tracking job costs, reviewing budgets vs. actuals, managing change orders, approving invoices, and ensuring the project is hitting margin targets
- Procurement and logistics: Coordinating material releases, equipment deliveries, and vendor schedules to avoid delays, especially for long-lead MEP components
- Problem-solving and risk management: Addressing field issues in real time, mitigating schedule impacts, and proactively resolving conflicts between design intent and field conditions
- Documentation and reporting: Managing RFIs, submittals, daily logs, and progress reports using tools like Procore or similar platforms
- Safety and compliance: Ensuring all work is being performed in accordance with OSHA standards, site-specific safety plans, and applicable building codes
