OverviewOverview:IMSA is committed to equity and excellence including the active recruitment of students from all areas of Illinois. IMSAs PROMISE Program addresses the unique challenges of culturally linguistically and economically diverse (CLED) students who have an interest in STEM education by providing academic enrichment programming at low to no cost. This grant-funded program is open to all students especially Black or African American students Latinx students students who qualify for the national free or reduced-price meal program as well as students from rural Illinois counties. The PROMISE Program consists of three grade-based experiences serving students 7th -9th grade.Dominican Chicago Pilsen CampusCurrently we are seeking a Math Instructor for the Spring 2026 PROMISE Program which serves non-IMSA students currently enrolled in the 7th grade. The program will run on 8 designated Saturday this program candidates will work with students that have varying academic backgrounds.Program Dates and Details:Expected work hours are Saturdays 8:30AM - 1:00PMMaximum number of participants:7th Grade: 45Session Dates:February 7February 21March 7March 21 (Virtual)April 4April 18May 2May 16 (Virtual)Program Schedule:Three 60 minute classes each session consisting of approximately 15 students per group. Schedule:CheckIn / Continental Breakfast: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AMClass 1: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AMClass 2: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AMClass 3: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PMDismissal at 12pmResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This may include approved original curriculum activities used in previous years or curriculum provided by the IMSA Outreach departmentLead lectures and hands on activities with assistance from student tutorsMaintain a safe respectful and encouraging environment for participating studentsQualificationsThis position pays $46.00 per hour. This position is not benefits eligible.
