OverviewOverview:IMSA is committed to equity and excellence including the active recruitment of students from all areas of Illinois. IMSAs PROMISE Program addresses the unique challenges of culturally linguistically and economically diverse (CLED) students who have an interest in STEM education by providing academic enrichment programming at low to no cost. This grant-funded program is open to all students especially Black or African American students Latinx students students who qualify for the national free or reduced-price meal program as well as students from rural Illinois counties.Aurora CampusCurrently we are seeking a Program Assistant for the Spring 2026 PROMISE Program which serves non-IMSA students currently enrolled in the 7th grade. The program will run on 8 designated Saturday sessions.Program Dates and Details:Expected work hours are Saturdays 8:00 AM - 1:00 PMMaximum number of participants: 50 divided into two groupsSession Dates:February 28March 21March 28April 4April 18April 25May 2May 16Program Schedule:Two 90-minute classes each consisting of approximately 25 students.Each class will include a 5-10 minute snack break.Schedule:Class 1: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AMClass 2: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PMResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Attend all scheduled Saturday program sessions including orientationSupervision duties begin the moment the first tutor arrives until the last student departs at the conclusion of the programProviding support during each session: check in classroom setup snack distribution transitions etc.Weekly check of student tutor availabilityAttend all preparation meetings such as tutor trainingAssist Program Manager gather materials as neededServe as liaison with parents regarding safety security or emotional concerns as neededEvaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methodsAll other duties as assignedQualificationsThis position pays $20.00 per hour. This position is not benefits eligible.
